We are pround to announce that a formalized 5 year partnership between the IRSA Society and the Journal Acta Orthopaedica has been established in 2025. This will benefit the members as described below.
Fast review of manuscripts by RSA experts:
- Presenters at IRSA’s biennial congresses (in 2025 in Vancouver) are invited to submit full-length manuscripts for consideration in Acta Orthopaedica with expectations of fast review by RSA experts.
- The manuscript can be submitted before the IRSA congress and no later than 4 months after the congress.
- A cover letter should be provided with the submission, indicating that the manuscript is intended for the IRSA congress.
- A tickbox for the prespecified manuscript type “IRSA (International Radiostereometry Society)” should be selected in the Manuscript Manager submission portal.
- A verification document for IRSA congress participation (accepted presentation and paid registration) must be uploaded with the manuscript.
RSA category in Acta Orthopaedica:
- All RSA papers published in Acta Orhopaedica will be indexed under an ”RSA category” – easy to locate.
Best paper – free publication APC:
- The nominated two best papers of the biennial IRSA congress will be offered a publication waiver 100% free of charge.
Article Processing Charge (APC) discount:
- The standard article processing charge (APC) is 2,400 Euro in Acta Orthopaedica.
- All full-length RSA manuscripts, which are presented at the biennial IRSA congress and submitted to Acta Orthopaedica according to the above, will receive a discount on the journal APC.
- As always, there is no APC for members of a national society that is a member of The Nordic Orthopaedic Federation (NOF members include Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Iceland, Lithuania, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden). This applies if the first author or last author are a member.
