Mission
The mission of the iRSA is:
- to promote research and development in radiostereometry (RSA) and related sciences throughout the world focused on orthopedic implants and surgery, including:
o implant migration,
o measurements of wear,
o kinematics,
o diagnostics,
o and other new applications; - to promote collaboration between research groups of members of iRSA or other associations;
- to promote the propagation of scientific information and to encourage progress in the field of radiostereometry in all its aspects, including research, education and clinical application, via:
o organisation of symposia and conferences,
o organisation of education and workshops,
o collaborative publications,
o scientific awards,
o facilitating travel awards and student mobility; - to define and describe best practices for RSA methodologies in standardization guidelines.
Vision
The vision of the iRSA is:
To promote safe innovation of implants, surgical techniques, and diagnostics of pathomechanics, as well as support and facilitate development and post-market surveillance of medical devices.
